Something Missing
We observe a woman at moments when she is alone in her room, over a period of several days. A woman who is a “foreigner”. This unique monolog reveals the various attitudes and roles a woman must assume when she changes place in search of a better life. The protagonist journeys from one country to another, from a farming to an urban environment, and from one kind of work to another. At every step she remains a stranger and isolated, until she finds that the same thing has happened to her original environment and she is estranged and isolated from her own family.
The woman searches through memory and symbols for the strength to carry on with her life and to confront the violent conditions in which she finds herself. Finally, this strength is found in the experiences themselves and in the awareness that deep down, everyone is a stranger even in the most familiar environment.
